It's hard for me to like a lot of the rock that is out right now from a lot of the young bands, other than Muse. A lot of it just seems rather uninspired and derivative. But I have to say the new My Chemical Romance single "Famous Last Words" rocks super hard. There, I admitted it.

So in his latest harebrained scheme, our magnificent ass of a president and his Legion of Doom have decided in their infinite wisdom that all the war in Iraq needs is more soldiers. This is the equivalent of putting another story on your house after you've already built it directly on a flood plain. at least the roof is higher in case you need to climb up there and wait for rescue. This war is never going to be winnable in any sense of the word, there have already been too many civilian and American soldier casulties for any sane person to call it winning. This administration is marching America off the cliff in every area that matters (war, energy, tax reform, environment, poverty, education, art, civil liberties) and the next election can't come soon enough for me. The sooner these bums are out of office the better. I hope this latest plan backfires so badly that no Republican has a chance of winning in 2008 and I only hope it doesn't take a lot more bloodshed and death to make it clear this approach is fatally flawed (no pun intended).

An uncommonly good year for Netflix rentals, due to the fun of
watching/rewatching movies with Kristin and the cancelling of my cable
package this past summer. In addition to these, we watched a number of
Alfred Hitchcock Presents TV shows on DVD as well. One interesting
trend I notice in my viewing habits is more documentary/message movies
than I used to watch. The documentary scene has really become quite
compelling in recent years, with some really great work that not only
is educational, but intriguing to watch as well.
Also, a lot of movies whose titles start with The.
Wages of Fear
An Inconvenient Truth
Once Upon a Time in the West
The Future of Food
The Color of Paradise
A Very Long Engagement
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Good Night, and Good Luck
Dave Chappelle's Block Party
Diary of a Country Priest
Run Lola Run
The Long Goodbye
The Bridge on the River Kwai
Wings of Desire
Le Cercle Rouge
